Your Own Mum: Supporting mums without mums
A safe space for mums without the support of their own mum.

About Your Own Mum
Before I became a parent, someone once said to me, “I get the sense that you’ve had to be your own mum in life.” Those words stayed with me, and they echo even louder now that I’m a mother myself.
Motherhood is beautiful, but without a mum of your own to lean on, it can feel especially heavy. No built-in support, no one to call for reassurance, no familiar safety net. Just you, doing your very best for your children, while quietly wishing someone was there for you too.
Your Own Mum exists for mothers navigating parenthood without maternal support, whether through estrangement, grief, distance, or never having had that figure at all.
This is a space for reflection, shared experience, practical resources, and gentle reassurance. A place to build a village together, even if yours doesn’t look like everyone else’s.
You may sometimes feel like you’re being your child’s mum and your own - but here, you don’t have to do it alone.
